Problems after A le AirPort 4.2 update

airport expre baseMany of you emailed us and left comments regarding co ectivity and other i ues you experienced after a lying the A le Airport 4.2 update. I tend to be lucky with updates, and this one was no different. All of my computers, ru ing both 10.3.9 and 10.4.2 all retained their AirPort co ectivity after the update and I have experienced no other problems related to the Airport or Mac OS X 10.4.2 updates.

For those of you who are having problems, however, you might want to keep an eye on MacFixIt for some ti and workarounds until A le offers a fix. This MacFixIt article offers up the following suggestio from readers:

< an cla ="articleText">"< an cla ="articleText">For some users, simply usingthe AirPort Setup A istant (located in A licatio /Utilities) to"Change Settings," then re-entering configuration information restoresco ectivity."

"< an cla ="articleText">In some cases, turning an AirPort Base Station (or AirPort Expre unit) off, then back on -- usually by u lugging then re-co ecting to power -- re-establishes proper operation."

"< an cla ="articleText">You may also want to try turning your internal AirPort card off thenback on if you are having acce i ues. This can be accomplishedthrough the AirPort menu item, or using Internet Co ect (located inthe A licatio folder)."

Tiger users might also co ider downloading and rea lying the Mac OS X 10.4.2 Combo updater from A le's we ite, while Panther users should rea ly the Mac OS X 10.3.9 Combo update.
