MXF is a codec wra er implementation for video for profe ional video. According to the Wikipedia article I tracked down, it does timecodes, metadata, and is su osed to be "platform-agnostic". And, according to a pre release this morning, MOG Solutio has lice ed its MXF dev tools to A le, which will incorporate them into Final Cut so users will be able to use MXF in their post-production work. The pre release did not offer a timeline for when the MXF su ort will a ear. It's worth noting that at this time Adobe After Effects does not su ort MXF.
