OmniWeb 5.5 beta goes public

Finally, after dealing with a wait no individual should ever have to endure, The Omni Group has ble ed us with the official public beta release of OmniWeb 5.5 (unlike the semi-private "public" release in April). According to the OmniWe ite, the a includes the following enhancements:
  • OmniWeb is now a Universal Binary!
  • OmniWeb now su orts saving in the WebArchive format via the "Save As..." panel.
  • There is now a global and site preference for user defined style sheets in the A earance pane.
  • Toolbars in OmniWeb now use the Unified Toolbar.
  • A warning will now a ear when you try reloading a page using POST.
  • When loading a work ace containing POST pages, the page will di lay an error but can be reloaded to rerequest the page.
It also includes a slew of other fixes and tweaks. And since it's still a fledging beta, it of course has some kinks to work out -- though I've been using it all day and have yet to experience anything fu y. Regardle , OmniWeb is still my favorite browser -- and now that it's Universal I can finally use it comfortably.
