Quad core Core 2 Duo works in Mac Pro

That's a Mac Pro with 8 proce ors. Ok, so it really is only 2 proce ors with 4 cores each, but I bet that thing screams. The good folks at AnandTech just ha ened to have an engineering sample of Intel's forthcoming 'Clovertown' proce or, and they thought, 'I wonder if the Mac Pro mother board can run with this.' So they swa ed the proce ors out, and OS X didn't bat an eye (nor did the hardware).

This doe 't mean that you'll be able to upgrade the proce ors yourself, but it is a step in the right direction.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.
